GEORGE NOORY IN LAS VEGAS: Get tickets now -- be there June 9!

(Las Vegas, NV)  —  Sheriff Doug Gillespie is asking for more money to hire new police officers.

Gillespie told Metro’s Fiscal Affairs committee Monday the funding is needed after years of cutbacks.  But county and city officials say they have their own budget problems.

The sheriff has asked local governments to see how much more they can contribute.  He says he’s willing to make more cuts in Metro’s budget.
