Ex-Vegas Cop Accused Of Groping On Duty Takes Plea
LAS VEGAS (AP) — A former Las Vegas police officer is taking a plea deal that avoids trial on charges he groped a female motorists he stopped on duty and induced another to expose her breast.
John Kingsley Norman pleaded guilty Monday to misdemeanor lewdness and oppression under the color of office. Prosecutors dropped felony charges.
The 34-year-old Norman could get probation or up to two years in jail at sentencing Oct. 30. He’ll have to register as a sex offender.
Norman resigned from the police department this month.
He was accused of rubbing the breast of a woman he stopped for a minor traffic violation in June 2011, and of coaxing another woman he stopped in December to expose her breast before he let her go.
