HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) — Michelle Obama is urging voters in Nevada’s most politically divided city to give her husband four more years.

The first lady arrived in Las Vegas late Tuesday afternoon. She visited Sunrise Coffee, an organic restaurant in Las Vegas, before addressing a crowd of more than 1,000 supporters at the Henderson Convention Center.

The first lady urged the crowd to remember the work her husband has done on health care, gay rights and immigration reform.

Henderson is one of the few Nevada cities in play for President Barack Obama and Republican Mitt Romney in November. The suburban city bordering Las Vegas has traditionally featured the state’s closest elections because of its many independent-leaning voters.

Nevada backed Bill Clinton in 1996 and George W. Bush twice.

Obama won Nevada in 2008.
