PROVO, Utah (AP) — A 6-year-old girl has escaped a brush with death at a Provo waterslide park.
Provo Fire and Rescue officials say they responded to calls of a possible drowning at Seven Peaks Water Park about noon Friday.
Lifeguards told paramedics the child was under the water before they brought her up and began CPR.
She was conscious and breathing on her own by the time rescuers arrived, and was transported to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.
Rescuers are not identifying the child or the lifeguard that recovered her.
They say the incident is a reminder that parents should be aware of where children are at all times, especially around water.
