Kevin takes a look at the Nevada primary and whats ahead. Nevada’s political establishment backed mostly winners in yesterday’s primary, with two glaring exceptions. Democratic state Sen. John Lee of North Las Vegas was pummeled by a political novice Patricia Spearman despite having the backing of the Democratic Party. On the other side of the aisle, Republican Assemblyman Kelly Kite of Minden lost to tea party supporter Jim Wheeler.
Only 19 percent of voters statewide participated in Nevada’s primary elections yesterday, a significant drop from the 30 percent participation rate in the 2010 primaries.
