(Las Vegas, NV)  —  Boxer Floyd Mayweather Junior wants to serve out the remainder of his three-month jail sentence at home.  The request could go before a judge as early as today.

Mayweather began serving his sentence for attacking his ex-girlfriend on June 1st.

Attorney Richard Wright claims the 35-year-old fighter’s physical condition is deteriorating while being held at the Clark County Detention Center, under what Wright calls “inhumane conditions.”  The boxer is confined to his cell, segregated from the general population, 23 hours a day.  During the one hour he is in the recreation area, he is alone and unable to use work out equipment.

Wright says Mayweather’s ability to resume his boxing career depends on “continued conditioning.”
