(Laughlin, NV) — Today’s primary election could decide Laughlin’s future. Residents of the gaming community south of Las Vegas will vote on whether to have their own government.
Supporters want to be independent of Clark County, which provides the town’s services. But opponents say taxes will go up to pay for police, fire and other necessities.
Even if voters approve incorporation, it could be delayed or overturned by the state Legislature.
