(Las Vegas, NV) — Getting into the Clark County Education Association is much easier than getting out. Not to mention less expensive.
Summer is nearly here and the thought of worrying about things such as classroom duties may be on the back burner for some. In a recent article at WWW.NPRI.ORG, it was explained that teachers must submit written notification if they would like to discontinue their membership. The catch is they must do so between July 1-15.
NPRI’s Victor Joecks says, “In America we have the freedom of association, we also have the freedom of disassociation and that’s what’s really at stake. You (union members) aren’t allowed to leave except within this two week window when most teachers are on vacation and not thinking about school at all.”
Members pay $768 in dues each year. Since 2007, the number of union members has decreased by roughly 1,600.
