(Las Vegas, NV) —  The ability to earn a high school diploma may be taken for granted by some. Not so for one Clark High student.

Jellow moved to Las Vegas from the Philippines in the 4th grade only to see her education interrupted. “Her junior year she went back to the Philippines with her mom and she got stuck there for about the length of a semester.”, said Clark High School Principal Jill Pendleton.

Jellow returned this year way behind in credits but thanks to Clark High’s block scheduling and the ability to take online classes, Jellow will accomplish something special according to Pendleton.

“She’s going to be graduating with her class and she is actually the first person in her family to graduate from high school.”

Graduation ceremonies begin today around Clark County.
