(Washington, DC) – The U.S. House of Representatives has restored funding for the Yucca Mountain nuclear repository.
The “Review-Journal” says about $10 million has been allocated to resume licensing for the proposed site near Las Vegas, on top of an additional $35 million to revive the project.
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission suspended Yucca Mountain licensing last year.
The measure is likely to die in the Senate, where Nevada’s Harry Reid has control.
