(Las Vegas, NV) — Southern Nevada Water Authority customers are sounding off over a new rate increase. At yesterday’s Clark County Commission meeting, dozens of people expressed anger over the new rates, based on the size of lines that serve a property. The larger the lines, the more you pay.
Business owners and officials with non-profit groups say their water bills have tripled since the new rates began showing up last month.
Southern Nevada Water Authority chief Pat Mulroy says the money is needed to build new projects and pay construction debts.
