(Las Vegas, NV) — Habitat for Humanity lives by one motto…to build “simple, decent, affordable homes for working families in partnership with God and our community.”
This week will be the first time time Las Vegas has been involved in what is a nationwide event called Blitz Build where 250 homes will be built across the country in less than a week.
The home will be built on Miller Ave. near MLK Blvd. and Lake Mead in three days. The land was donated as part of the revitalization of the Vegas Heights community. Builders will go around the clock in building the home with the dedication ceremony set for Friday June 8th at 6pm.
Habitat for Humanity Las Vegas builds single family homes throughout Clark County for working families earning less than 80% of Area Median Income. The home is sold at no profit through a no-interest mortgage. Families volunteer their labor to help build Habitat homes, including the one they will eventually purchase.
You can become involved in a number of ways-either by becoming a sponsor, donating or volunteering on the actual build. All the information can be found at habitatlasvegas.org
