RENO, Nev. (AP) — A former corrections officer for the state of Nevada has been sentenced to 6½ years in prison for his conviction on a federal child pornography charge.

Ryan Mills of Carson City also was sentenced to 25 years of supervised release this week in U.S. District Court in Reno.

The 37-year-old Mills earlier pleaded guilty to a receipt of child pornography charge stemming from a December 2010 raid at his house.

He’s accused of possessing and receiving over 1,400 videos and 500 images of child pornography using the internet.

Two Reno men also were sentenced this week in the same court for similar convictions.

Authorities say 24-year-old Anthony Thompson was sentenced to 10 years in prison, while 66-year-old Joseph Guintoli was sentenced to eight years in prison.
