LAS VEGAS (AP) — A federal judge in Las Vegas sentenced a 28-year-old man to 237 years in federal prison after a jury found him guilty last November of heading a three-day spree of nine armed robberies in August 2010.

U.S. Attorney Daniel Bogden is calling the sentence that Jason Wiley received Thursday from Senior U.S. District Judge Lloyd D. George a warning for anyone considering using a gun in a crime.

Wiley received five years on a federal armed robbery charge, seven years on a firearm charge and multiple consecutive 25-year sentences for continued use of a firearm.

A federal co-defendant, Christopher DiBlasio, pleaded guilty before trial and is due for sentencing.

Wiley’s stepson, Lamont Curry, was convicted in state court and sentenced in January to five to 15 years in prison
