(North Las Vegas, NV)  —  Union leaders for North Las Vegas police and firefighters are not happy with the city’s latest plan to balance its budget.

City Manager Tim Hacker says he wants to suspend raises, holiday pay and uniform allowances to head off a $33-million deficit next year.  Hacker says the health and welfare of residents is the city’s “number one objective.”

The unions claim Hacker’s move is just a way to get them back to the bargaining table.

City council members will consider the proposal June 1st.
