(Las Vegas, NV)  –  A Metro Police officer faces a felony charge of lewdness with a minor under the age of 14.

Authorities say 43-year-old Garrett Vandereecken surrendered yesterday afternoon.  He has been relieved of duty without pay pending investigations.

Details of the alleged crime have not been released.  Police say Vandereecken was assigned to the northwest area command, and had been with Metro for four years.
