(Las Vegas, NV)  —  The California man accused of robbing the Bellagio of $115,000 in casino chips makes his first court appearance this morning.

According to a police report, 24-year-old Michael Belton admitted to planning Saturday night’s crime with two other men.  Belton told detectives he agreed to take part because he was broke.  Authorities say one of the suspects used pepper spray at the Strip resort, while Belton allegedly grabbed the chips.  Belton was detained by security until police arrived.

The two other suspects are still at large.
