(Las Vegas,NV)  —  The fate of a dog that killed a Henderson boy remains up in the air.

The “Review-Journal” says in a sworn statement filed this week, the grandmother of one-year-old Jeremiah Shahan claimed she never intended to turn over “Onion” to animal control officers.

Last week, a judge ruled that Henderson officials could put down the six-year-old dog, after he fatally attacked the boy in April.

An animal rights group is fighting to save “Onion,” and have him live out his life in a sanctuary in Colorado.

I hope this animals execution isn’t simply being delayed until such time the unfortunate accident has become old news with no following, or interest that might save the dog’s life. As I said before, it would be a vicious act to kill this particular dog.

    I agree …2 wrongs won,t make a right…
All, in that family has suffered including Onion…being away from the ones he loves will be punishment enough..please Judge ..killing Onion won,t bring that baby back…..we,ll never know the whole story and Onion can,t speak for himself…but Grandma knows and is trying her best to go on and letting Onion live I believe will help….Thanx
