(Las Vegas, NV) — Clark County commissioners will be looking closely at the Southern Nevada Health District’s budget request today.
The agency is asking for a nearly 3% increase in salaries and benefits for its employees. Some commissioners are questioning why the union that represents the health district’s workers has not offered to make concessions.
Another issue is the agency’s need for a new headquarters. The district’s main building on Shadow Lane was closed last month because of structural problems.
