(Las Vegas, NV) — A huge apartment fire that broke out Thursday evening has displaced dozens of people.

The fire broke out around 6:30pm near Smoke Ranch and Jones in a second floor building. None of the occupants were harmed as firefighters contained the blaze about 9:30pm.

The Southern Nevada Chapter of The Red Cross came to the aid of 39 people as of Friday morning and as Lloyd Ziel explained it’s what the Red Cross is designed to do.

“It truly is a privilege for us to stand as a representative of the community to say we are going to take care of you until you get back on your feet.”

You can donate to the Red Cross here.

Fire officials are scheduled to be back on scene Friday morning to investigate the cause of the fire.
