(Las Vegas, NV) — That wasn’t thunder you heard on the Las Vegas Strip this morning. The parking garage at O’Sheas casino was imploded this morning at 2:30 a.m.

The doors closed for good at the Irish-themed restaurant Monday at noon to make room for the $500 million Linq project being put together by Caesars Entertainment Group.

Project Linq will create 3,000 construction jobs, of which 1,800 will be permanent once the corridor is up and running.

Retail, dining, entertainment and an observation wheel will anchor the project.

A wing of The Tropicana was blown up last year. Other than that the implosion of O’Shea’s was the first since the New Frontier was imploded in 2007.

Let’s not let the implosion overshadow that yesterday was the day O’Sheas Casino closed.

but did anyone get comments from people on the strip about the loss of O’Sheas?

This story makes no sense. The grammar and wording are that of a 5th grader, and actually when you think about it, that’s an insult to 5th graders! I’ve read insider publications which state that the radio industry is in a sort of “race to the bottom”, but this certainly is proof. Whoever hired this clown with the notion that he or she is a journalist should resign in shame. I suppose if i want good newsradio, i’ll have to move back to L.A.
