(Carson City, NV)  —  Law enforcement officers have been busy ticketing drivers who use their cell phones while behind the wheel.  The “Nevada Appeal” says according to the Office of Traffic Safety, Metro Police have handed out more than 2200 citations in the Las Vegas Valley during the first three months of 2012.

The Nevada Highway Patrol’s northern command has handed out over 1600 tickets from January to March.   The law, which took effect January 1st, fines those who use hand-held cell phones while behind the wheel.
