(Las Vegas, NV) — Passenger counts at McCarran International Airport increased for the third straight month in March while Las Vegas-based Allegiant Air continued its double-digit growth in passenger traffic. According to figures released this morning, more than 3.6 million passengers traveled through McCarran last month. That’s up 2.5 % over March of 2011, and up 3% compared to this time last year.

Of the five major carriers, Allegiant Air posted the biggest gain, serving 29.8% more passengers. Two airlines saw a drop in passenger counts. Delta was down 8.8%, and US Airways was down 15.2% compared to March 2011.
