(Las Vegas, NV) — Police are not releasing many details on a double murder in the northwest valley. A nine-year-old boy went to Hoggard Elementary School yesterday morning, and told staffers his mother and sister were dead. Officers went to the boy’s home near Washington and Tonopah, where they found the bodies of a woman and a young girl. A four-year-old boy inside the home was not hurt, but a man was found covered in blood and taken to the hospital. Police say no arrests have been made. The two surviving boys are now with Child Protective Services.
Students and staff at Hoggard Elementary School will get a visit from the school district’s crisis response team today. District spokeswoman Amanda Fulkerson praised staffers who took “immediate action to notify officials” after the nine-year-old boy told them his mother and sister were dead in his home. Fulkerson says the response team will help students “process this tragedy.”
