(Las Vegas, NV) — Over-the-air broadcasters face major challenges from new technology. That’s the message National Association of Broadcasters President Gordon Smith delivered to industry leaders yesterday. He vowed the NAB would fight legislation he says would restrict access to free radio and television. Smith says the current system is “fair and benefits viewers.” Television and radio stations continue to increase content offered on alternative platforms as more people adopt new, portable devices. Almost 100,000 people are attending the annual NAB convention, which runs through Thursday at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The event is not open to the public.
