Three Attempted Murder Charges in Southwest Las Vegas Shooting
(LAS VEGAS CBS KXNT) Police have charged James Keck with three counts of attempted murder and other charges after he entered the Bomas Bar and Grill on Thursday afternoon, chased employees to a neighboring business, and shot three women, critically wounding one.
Metro Officer Marcus Martin described the scene as “terrifying.” The first police officer to arrive encountered Keck firing a shotgun on his way out of the building. The officer was approached by one of the victims, who was seeking help.
Police were unsure whether Keck had any accomplices. The gunman was persuaded to surrender, Martin said partly because metro responded with a lage number of officers and the suspect may have been intimidated.
Keck is believed to have been a former employee of the Bomas, and to have had a dispute with one of the people in the establishment.
The most severely injured victim was shot in the chest. She is in critical, but stable condition at UMC. Another woman was shot in the arm, and a third in the hand.
