Las Vegas – UNLV men’s basketball sophomore forward Mike Moser was honorable mention Associated Press All-America, the organization announced Monday. Moser is the 10th Runnin’ Rebel to earn honorable mention AP All-America and the first since Marcus Banks in 2003. Moser led the No. 23/25 Runnin’ Rebels in scoring and rebounding this season (14.0 ppg, 10.5 rpg) and was one of only two players in the Mountain West to average a double-double. He was a unanimous first-team All-MW honoree in addition to being named the league’s Newcomer of the Year and a member of the all-defensive squad. He was also named All-MW Tournament, was first team NABC All-District 17 and was also selected to the USBWA’s All-District VIII squad. Moser’s 15 double-doubles this year ranks 21st in the country and his 369 rebounds ranked fourth in UNLV single-season history. Moser started 34 of UNLV’s 35 games and scored in double figures 25 times, including five games with 20 or more points. He had 10 or more rebounds in 21 games, including 13 or more seven times. Moser was one of two student-athletes from the Mountain West to collect AP All-America honors as San Diego State’s Jamaal Franklin was also honorable mention.
