(Las Vegas, NV) – Tense moments on a flight from New York to Las Vegas when a JetBlue airliner had to make an emergency landing in Amarillo, Texas after the Captain of the flight began to exhibit erratic behavior. A federal official tells CBS News the pilot was locked out of the cockpit by the First Officer. The Captain banged on the cockpit door then ran through the aisle yelling. A flight attendant got on the intercom urging the restraint of the incoherent man. An off-duty NYPD officer, who was a passenger on the flight, held the man on the floor while an off-duty JetBlue pilot assisted with the emergency landing. The pilot was taken to a nearby medical facility.
