(Las Vegas, NV) — President Obama kicks off a two-day swing to promote his energy policy today.  Obama’s first stop will be this afternoon in Boulder City, where he will speak at the Copper Mountain Solar Energy Plant.  The event is closed to the public. The solar plant already produces enough electricity to power about 14,000 homes.  It was built with help from federal and state tax credits.

Your travel may be affected during the President’s visit.  Air Force One will touch down at McCarran Airport just before noon today.  The president will then head to Boulder City. Boulder City police are urging people not to visit the town during Obama’s visit to an area solar plant.  Expect delays and closures on U.S. 93 at Veterans Memorial Drive, and U.S. 95 from Railroad Pass to Russell Road during the president’s trip.  Air Force One will leave McCarran shortly before 3pm.
