Man Sentenced For Killing Vegas Liquor Store Clerk
LAS VEGAS (AP) — A 27-year-old man has been sentenced to 28 years to life in prison for the 2009 slaying of a Las Vegas liquor store clerk.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that Clark County District Judge Linda Bell handed down the sentence Friday to Antonio Duenas.
Duenas was found guilty by a jury in January for first-degree murder, armed robbery and burglary in the August 2009 shooting death of 62-year-old Arthur Miller.
During Friday’s hearing, Duenas apologized to Miller’s family and to his own.
He and Michael Cruz robbed Loco Liquor when Miller was shot.
Miller exchanged gunfire with the robbers, and died from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest.
Cruz pleaded guilty in March 2010 to first-degree murder and was sentenced to 21 years to life in prison.
