LAS VEGAS (AP) — A relative says he believes a body found in Rock Canyon National Conservation Area outside Las Vegas is a 46-year-old hiker missing since mid-January.

Darrell Kirk of Seattle says the keys to his brother Ronald Kirk’s vehicle were found with the body found Saturday in rugged terrain at the popular hiking area about 20 miles west of the Las Vegas Strip.

Clark County Coroner Michael Murphy says a body was found, but it could take several days for identification to be confirmed.

Darrell Kirk says foul play is not suspected.

Ronald Kirk was originally from the Chicago area.

He was reported missing Jan. 22 and his vehicle was found Jan. 23 in the Calico Basin area.

He sent family members a text message Jan. 16 saying he was going hiking
