LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Nevada Highway Patrol trooper has been released from a Las Vegas hospital after treatment for injuries he received when a passenger car sideswiped his patrol cruiser while he was parked on a freeway ramp.
Trooper Jeremie Elliott says the trooper was treated overnight for neck and back injuries in the crash a little after 8 p.m. Thursday at St. Rose Parkway and Interstate 15.
The name of the trooper hasn’t been made public. Elliott says he was inside the patrol cruiser when it was hit.
The Las Vegas Sun reports that a Toyota hit the patrol cruiser on the passenger side.
The driver of the Toyota remained at the scene, and investigators say alcohol didn’t appear to be a factor in the crash.
