(Las Vegas, NV) — Clark County school board members have delayed extending a for-profit company’s contract to manage seven valley schools. While parents support the job Edison Learning is doing, district officials say student performance at Edison-run schools is lower than regular public schools. None of the seven Edison-run schools met the federal government’s No Child Left Behind standards in 2011. Edison’s contract with the district ends after the current school year.
