LAS VEGAS (AP) — Mike Moser had 17 points and 12 rebounds, and senior Brice Massamba added a career-high 15 points to lead No. 17 UNLV past Wyoming 74-63 on Saturday night in their regular-season finale.
Kendall Wallace had a season-high 14 points and Anthony Marshall 12 for the Runnin’ Rebels (25-7, 9-5 Mountain West Conference), who wrapped up a perfect season at home. They face Wyoming again in the conference tournament on their home floor.
UNLV pulled away in the final 4 minutes. Massamba’s layup with 3:48 left put the Rebels up double digits for good in front of a white-out, sellout crowd of 18,577 at the Thomas & Mack Center.
Next, the teams will play again on the same court Thursday night in the first round of the league tournament. UNLV is the third seed, while the Cowboys (20-10, 6-8) will be No. 6 in the eight-team format.
