(Las Vegas, NV) – Sick leave requests are down in the Clark County Fire Department. Officials say firefighters cut back on sick leave by 57,000 hours since 2009, when county officials began looking into sick leave abuse among some fire department employees. Last year, two firefighters were let go for using sick leave for vacation time instead of illness.
