(Las   Vegas, NV)  –  Sheriff Doug Gillespie says Metro Police needs more money next year.  He has proposed a $515-million budget, which includes a nearly three-percent hike from the current police budget.  Gillespie says additional funding is needed to maintain safe policing levels in the Las Vegas Valley.  That may mean reduced capital spending and asking police unions for concessions.  Metro’s Fiscal Affairs Committee will receive a final budget in April.
