(Las Vegas, NV)  —  Superintendent Dwight Jones says the first round of pink slips could soon go out to teachers if a contract isn’t settled with the Clark County Education Association.  Jones tells the “Review-Journal” the school district faces a $39-million deficit, and he will have no choice but to lay off at least one-thousand teachers for the fall semester.  An arbitrator is expected to rule soon on a contract between the union and the school district, which includes raises for teachers.
