Casinos Warned To Pay Tax On Comps
(Carson City, NV) — Nevada casinos are being warned to start paying taxes on free meals for high rollers and employees. The state Taxation Department is sending out letters, reminding casino executives of its ruling against Boyd Gaming last month. Agency director William Chisel says other casinos are bound by the decision as well. Boyd was denied 21-million dollars in tax refunds, and resort officials have hinted they will challenge the ruling.
