Las Vegas – UNLV sophomore Mike Moser has been named the Mountain West Men’s Basketball Player of the Week again. This is the fourth weekly accolade for Moser and the sixth of the season for a Runnin’ Rebel overall. UNLV’s sixth player of the week award in 2011-12 tied the school’s single-season record. Moser’s win also tied the program’s single-season individual record for such honors as legendary All-American forward Larry Johnson collected four during the 1990-91 season en route to being named college basketball’s national player of the year. Moser, led No. 11 UNLV to a 65-63 win over No. 13/15 San Diego State in front of a sold-out crowd at the Thomas & Mack Center on Saturday. The victory in UNLV’s only game of last week moved the Runnin’ Rebels into a three-way tie for first place in the Mountain West and snapped a six-game losing streak to the Aztecs. Moser scored a team-high 19 points and grabbed a game-high nine rebounds against the Aztecs, while also recording career highs with six steals and four blocks. The Rebels are back in action Tuesday on the road at TCU.
