SANDY VALLEY, Nev. (AP) — Volunteer firefighters are holding a 12th annual balloon festival, pancake breakfast and safety fair in the southern Nevada state line community of Sandy Valley.
Clark County officials say the yearly fundraiser is set Saturday morning in the farming and mining town 30 miles southwest of Las Vegas.
The festival is the Sandy Valley Volunteer Fire Department’s largest fundraiser. It raises money for training, supplies and equipment for the 20 volunteers who handle about 250 emergency calls a year.
Sandy Valley is located off the Jean exit from Interstate 15.
