LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Katy Perry is expected to perform at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards on Feb. 12, marking the singer’s first public appearance since her highly publicized split from husband Russell Brand.

Perry joins previously announced performers and nominees, including Jason Aldean, Kelly Clarkson, the Foo Fighters, Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift and Adele, who will perform for the first time since undergoing throat surgery in November of last year.

The Recording Academy announced last month that LL Cool J will host the awards show.

The show, which takes place live at the Staples Center, will air on CBS2 at 8 p.m.

Kanye West leads Grammy nominees with seven nods, while Adele, Bruno Mars, and the Foo Fighters each have six.

Alrighty, boys and girls. Let me clarify this Grammy bieunsss before things get carried away. NARAS rules stipulate that an individual is not nominated unless you make the final five. We are in the first round balloting which is open to anyone who makes the submission deadline and is a NARAS member, which is hundreds of thousands and voting has not begun yet.NARAS only considers you a nominee when you are in the top five. The five recordings that earn the most votes in each category become the nominees. There may be more than five nominees if there is a tie in the nomination process. Therefore, our chances are well, you know.
