Metro Police are setting up checkpoints around the valley to catch drivers violating the state’s new cell phone law. Those caught talking or texting on a hand-held device while behind the wheel face a fine. Police will be at Charleston and Lamb today. Another checkpoint is planned tomorrow on Decatur and Flamingo. And Metro will enforce the area of Maryland Parkway and Flamingo on Friday
