NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) — Clark County officials say a stretch of the busy 215 Beltway in North Las Vegas is going to be closed for up to 10 days this month to allow for installation of a deep drainage conduit.
Work is scheduled to close the highway from Decatur Boulevard to Aliante Parkway from 9 p.m. Jan. 13 to 5 a.m. Jan. 23. That includes the weekends of Jan. 14-15 and Jan. 21-22.
Officials say a reinforced concrete drainage tunnel will be built some 36 feet below the surface.
The work is part of a larger $116 million Beltway widening project that will include new interchanges at Jones and Decatur boulevards and a new Bradley Road overpass.
Construction is expected to continue until 2014.
