1-Year-Old Drowns In Water-Filled Cooler In Vegas Mobile Home
NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) — North Las Vegas police say the drowning of a 1-year-old boy who toppled into a water-filled ice chest in a mobile home bathroom was an accident.
Police Sgt. Tim Bedwell says investigators determined that David Aguilar fell into the cooler before family members found him, tried to perform CPR and summoned police about 10:15 p.m. Sunday.
The boy was pronounced dead at University Medical Center in Las Vegas.
Bedwell calls the death a family tragedy. He says no one has been charged with a crime.
Police say the boy’s 30-year-old father and five other children ages 5 to 17 were home while the boy’s 37-year-old mother was at work.
Bedwell says the cooler was used to store water to flush the toilet because a water line was broken.
