Illinois Man Indicted In Kidnapping Case In Vegas
LAS VEGAS (AP) — A 41-year-old Illinois man faces felony kidnapping and drug charges in Nevada after a woman accused him of beating and keeping her captive for almost two months in their hometown before she escaped from him last February at a Las Vegas Strip hotel.
James McNamara of Markham, Ill., was indicted Friday on charges that could get him up to life in prison. He’s due for arraignment Wednesday in Clark County District Court.
McNamara’s lawyer wasn’t immediately available Friday.
McNamara has been at the Clark County jail since the 25-year-old woman left him Feb. 15 and police arrested him at the Circus Circus hotel-casino.
The woman was hospitalized for treatment of a leg wound and other injuries she said she received from knives, a baseball bat and a hammer.
