(Las Vegas, NV) — It has lasted longer than its New York namesake, but Studio 54 on the Vegas Strip will soon shut down. Plans call for the nightclub modeled after the 1970’s disco venue to close its doors January 18th. Officials with the MGM Grand Hotel say a final party will be held January 7th. A new night venue will replace Studio 54. which opened in 1997 and marked the start of Sin City’s nightclub craze.
