(Carson City, NV)  —  New rules have been adopted for homeowners who have their power cut off by remote control. A Legislative panel has required NV Energy to restore power the same day if it cuts off service using its “smart meters” during the morning hours, and if back payments are made by 2 p.m. that same day. A customer
must be at least $100 behind in payments before service is shut off.
