(Carson City, NV)  –  A number of new state laws are now in effect. One makes it a felony to perform cruelty against pets.  Victims of graffiti can sue the parents of “tagging” minors for damages.  Former prostitutes who were sex slaves as teenagers can have their criminal records purged.  Another new law extends the statute of limitations for identity theft cases involving teenagers.  And stores that sell cigarettes must post warning signs about the dangers of smoking for pregnant women.
