(Washington, DC) — The Energy Department has guaranteed a $737-million loan for Nevada’s largest solar project. The Crescent Dunes plant near Tonopah in central Nevada will provide 600 jobs. Power from the 110-megawatt plant has been committed to NV Energy in a 25-year deal. The plant’s general contractor has agreed to pay damages if the facility is late or doesn’t perform well. Crescent Dunes will take about 30-months to complete.
