(Carson City, NV) — The Southern Nevada Water Authority will make its case for a plan to build a pipeline that would bring groundwater from rural counties to the Las Vegas Valley. The water authority claims the $3.5-billion project is needed to keep up with Vegas’ growth. But opponents claim the pumping of water from rural areas amounts to a land grab. A final decision is expected early next year.
